Neumünster, Germany, July 19, 2024: Coreti
Techniques Industrielles is a precision engineering office
near Marseille, France.
The company specializes in the subcontracting of mechanical parts and assemblies and offers services such as mechanical engineering, turning and milling, as well as the development of special machines and parts according to customer specifications. The company was acquired three years ago by CSTI, a family-run industrial group known for its expertise in the design, manufacture and delivery of complex industrial projects.
Under CSTI's leadership, Coreti was tasked with expanding its capabilities to meet the needs of high-precision large-scale manufacturing, particularly for the energy sector. Coreti's existing CNC machines were limited to relatively small 3-axis machines, which were insufficient for CSTI's requirements.
Pascal Maries, founder and operations manager of Coreti, was looking for an affordable, large, high-precision 5-axis machine to expand their production capabilities and was alerted to the Priminer GT320-5X by a supplier near Marseille.
Machine features, specifications and workmanship quality.
The GT320-5X, with a 3m x 2m table, 60 tools, Blum part and tool scanning probes and full 5-axis simultaneous machining capabilities, perfectly met their performance requirements.
This Priminer machine model, along with the GT420-5X and GT428-5X, features an Italian 5-axis swivel head and SKF lubrication systems. Coretis GT320-5X is equipped with Heidenhain TNC 640 controls, known for high productivity, ease of use and the ability to handle up to 24 control loops for advanced 5-axis and HSC machining. Priminer machines are also available with Siemens or Fanuc controls.
Mr. Maries had many questions about the precision and build quality of the Priminer machine and conducted thorough research, including a visit to the trade fair in Hanoi, where he was impressed by the machine's specifications, design and rigidity. Later, a visit to Priminer's manufacturing facilities in China provided additional assurance about the quality of the machine and the company's production processes.
“I was very calm,” he remembers. “We saw three GT320-5X machines in various stages of production and were able to closely observe how they are built. The factories are extremely efficient and the production processes and quality controls are excellent.”
Machine integration
Since installing it in their workshop in France, Coreti has successfully integrated the GT320-5X into their operations. The machine has demonstrated robust performance and significantly improved its manufacturing capabilities, allowing it to machine large, hardened steel parts for the French energy sector to critical tolerances of 0.01 mm.
“The parts we machine are made of very hard Toolox steel and weigh up to 700 kg. Some of the holes and features are machined perpendicular to each other, with tolerances of 0.01mm. Our main concern at the outset was that we wouldn't be able to find a cost-effective machine with the required rigidity and accuracy, but we are very impressed with the Priminer. We can clamp the part and machine all surfaces and features without having to move it. The stiffness is excellent!”
Customer Support
With such a powerful machine and large, highly valuable precision parts, learning to operate the GT320-5X must be done carefully, with support when needed from the Priminer office in Germany and occasional video calls to China.
“Priminer’s responsive customer support, including fast on-site technical support from Germany, has ensured smooth operations and minimal downtime,” says Mr. Maries. “They were very responsive. On the few occasions we had a problem and it couldn't be resolved over the phone, Priminer sent two technicians from Germany who were on site within 48 hours.”
The partnership with Priminer has enabled Coreti to meet the high-precision, high-volume requirements of its parent company, CSTI. The GT320-5X machine has proven to be a valuable, cost-effective and reliable asset, underscoring Coreti's commitment to quality and innovation in precision engineering.
